FLORIDA FISH HOOK TOURS

A primary AMS goal is to attract good bluegrass and related music from around the country, especially during winter months when our population increases and performance opportunities elsewhere for working bands are reduced.  To that end, we're gathering information about bluegrass and traditional country music events throughout the state, so that we can identify

 Bluegrass clubs, bars and other commercial venues

 College campuses, churches and other places of worship, school auditoriums and other
public/semi-public sites   capable of seating several hundred people

 Outdoor arenas, parks, RV parks, flea markets and other public gathering areas where music
would  be    welcomed—Florida still enjoys outdoor music during winter months!

 Potential individuals and organizations throughout the state who could be sponsors, promoters
   and presenters

A circuit for visiting bands to travel, moving from one scheduled location to others along pre-planned routes through Florida will allow bands to travel efficiently and earn decent returns at affordably priced performance events.

At present, plans are still in the incubating stage.  To make it work, we need to bring Florida bluegrass activists together to form a connecting chain of performance sites, hosted and sponsored by responsible parties who can build both performer and audience loyalties by ensuring that all are treated fairly.

The Acoustic Music Society, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose ranks include business professionals, performers, promoters, journalists, broadcasters and others who care deeply about bluegrass and Southwest Florida. AMS places a premium on honesty, transparency, integrity and honor in all transactions.  Though our ability to exercise control over specific situations is limited, we propose to monitor events to the best of our ability and do our best to ensure that all interests are fairly served.
